Hi,

Unfortunately, too many of us have a loved one affected by heart disease or stroke. Even I have a high risk as both my parents have high blood pressure and my dad had heart surgery in 2007 and suffered a stroke in 2008. I have already been diagnosed with hypertension and have been on blood pressure pills since 2005. To help stop this, I will be walking in this year's Start! Orange County Heart Walk on September 19th benefiting the American Heart Association. Last year, the Orange County Heart Walk raised $1.4 million, and this year I am doing my part to help exceed that amount. I have set a personal goal to raise funds that are needed for critical heart disease and stroke research and education.

You can help me raise funds and protect those you love by making a donation online. Click on the link below to visit my personal donation page where you can make a secure online credit card donation. The American Heart Association's online fund-raising website has a minimum donation amount of $25.00. If you prefer to contribute a smaller amount, you can do so by sending a check directly to me.

Your donation will make a difference in the fight against our nation's No. 1 and No. 3 killers-heart disease and stroke. Please take time to also read through the risk factors of heart disease and stroke and the signs of a stroke below. With this knowledge, you could help save someone's life - maybe even your own. Thank you for your support.

Records are not in table

I am trying to set up my detail to catch all my records, however, the way I have it set up is leaving out records. This report shows our customers and whether they are sales tax exempt. It also shows the customers locations and whether they are sales tax exempt.

Currently, I have the last "TAX CODE:" line under Location as the detail line. However, this line does not exist for every locaton, because not all locations are exempt. So, when I go to the table, those records with no exemptions are left out. I would like them in the table as blank records with a location number.

I also tried to make the detail include the line beginning with "Location:" and stretching it down to include all of the lines, through the "TAX CODE:" lines. However, I can not seem to figure out how to make it end where the next "Location" begins. Is this even possible? Any other suggestions? I have given up many times on this report, but really hope there is a way to do it that isn't too complicated. I am not a programmer, so I do the best I can.

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

Hello,

I'm new to this forum. At the firm I work at we use monarch only occaisonally so I know little about the program. I searched around this forum and google for an answer to my question but could not find one, but sorry if this is a repeat.

Hold back the snickers, but I use version 6.01. I left this out of the subject line for fear of ridicule.

I'm having an issue export tables larger than 16,384 rows through excel VBA macros. Let me clarify further. Version 6.01 has the option to export the table as a certain version of excel - the latest being 8.0. I have this as my setting. I use excel 11.0 (I think). I am able to manually export the table just fine. But when my excel macro tries to do it, its like it does not recognize that I have altered the option to export at a higher excel. It still defaults to lower versions of excel and does not allow greater than 16,384 lines.

I realize this is a monarch forum and not excel, but here is my excel VBA code in case it is of any use:

Code:

Sub Monarch()
'-----------------------------------------------------------
'Monarchs the report
'-----------------------------------------------------------
Application.DisplayAlerts = False
Dim MonarchObj As Object
Dim openfile, openmod, t As Boolean
'If Monarch is currently active GetObject will use Monarch. If it is not use the CreateObject() to
'open another copy of Monarch.
Set MonarchObj = GetObject("", "Monarch32")
If MonarchObj Is Nothing Then
    Set MonarchObj = CreateObject("Monarch32")
End If
t = MonarchObj.SetLogFile("C:\Temp\MPrg_G5.log", False)
openfile = MonarchObj.SetReportFile("c:\TEMP\report.dat", False)
If openfile = True Then
openmod = MonarchObj.SetModelFile("c:\report.MOD")
If openmod = True Then
MonarchObj.ExportTable ("C:\TEMP\Report.xls")
End If
End If
MonarchObj.Exit
End Sub

The particular line that falters is towards the bottom "MonarchObj.ExportTable ("C:\TEMP\Report.xls")". I look forward to any ideas or input. Thank you very much for taking the time to help me out.

I am doing pre-sale evaluation.

Can Monarch tell if there was anything left over on the page? Such as cause an error condition if there was.

We are currently scraping data with manually created programs. We parse text statements and reformat them with stylization for printing and producing PDF.

To protect ourselves, a general approach has ALWAYS been to look for anchors or traps as I think they are referred to by Monarch, and pull the anchor from the page, and pull the data items from the page. At the end of it all we check to see if there is anything left on the page. If there is, it is often either a scenario in the report we had never seen before. Or possibly the customers software vendor has varied the report format, or added new parts or sections. In what we do, this is a fatal condition. It requires investigation, and resolution to where there are once again no left overs on the page after scraping data and known labels a column headers, and so on.

Is it possible, using Monarch to put this kind of left overs protection in the scraping process?

BTW - It would be HUGELY appreciated if the product documentation were available to better evaluate purchase.
