I just received my new Monarch v8 media. Any issues or considerations with Data Pump and Monarch 8? MDP has v7 installed with it. Are there going to be any issues with v8 models used with MDP/v7? Do I need to upgrade the v7 on the MDP server to v8 as well?

Thanks.

MDP 7 will not be able to use any features introduced in Monarch V8, so it would be best to continue using V7 to create models for MDP use.

You can use V8, as long as you don't use any of the new V8 features, PDF, compound filters etc, as obviously, MDP7 doesn't know about them.

MDP does not actually use any Monarch components from the Monarch 7 install, it has its own engine. You will have to wait until MDP 8 is available to get all the new functionality of Monarch 8.

You will not have to wait too long until MDP 8 is available.

Thanks for the reply, Gareth. Any guesstimate on how long to MDP 8? I'm sort of stuck in a catch-22 on this: deploy Monarch v8, but can't use new features for MDP v7. That means using and supporting two separate programs - or trusting the users to be awfully darn careful.
