Is there a way to encrypt the export file that is being distributed via e-mail.

What version of MDP do you have? I believe in 8.01+ there is a Zip Options dialog that allows you to password protect export files. To access it, when specifying an Email distribution for the export, near the bottom of the Add/Edit Email dialog click the Zip Options button.

P.S. Were you able to resolve your monitoring issue? If so, I'd be interested in knowing how you managed it.

We solved the monitoring problem by stopping and restarting the DataPump service.
