Hello Tom,
I used Manman in an earlier life as a Financial Analyst/Manager too many years ago.
Old (cobol?) mainframe app ... extremely reliable as I recall, though.
I think using Monarch to get at your data (via reports) is the best option by far.
I assume you have a general understanding of the basics of Monarch.
The Lessons tutorial is excellent, BTW.
Suggestions for your report:
(1) Begin in Monarch in the Report View by highlighting one complete set of the lines you
want to work with (in which the first line always reads "Past Due"). If I understand correctly
you will highlight one complete set of 21 lines.
** Note...Monarch Version 5 lets you define a sample template of up to 64 lines.
(2) Then type "Past Due" in the Trap area such that it lines up with where "Past Due"
appears on each line of the report.
(3) Now "paint" all the data fields you need, click OK when done
(4) Now highlight one of the "Part" lines, and create a New Template.
(5) Type "Part" such that it lines up with where "Part"
appears on each line of the report. Also paint the Part number to capture that data field.
(6) Click OK, and your table view should have all your detail fields in one row
for each set of 21 lines, with the corresponding part number as well.
I hope this did the trick. Let me know.
Also, Tom, when you can, please drop me an email regarding Manman/...
anyone else still using Manman please do so as well.
Does CA have any kind of user conf.? Are there still regional Manman-user groups?
I recall Manman, when it was still owned by ASK in the 90's. At one point there
was a very active user community. Would be interested to know. Thanks!
Regards
Mike
