You can use MSRP to strip off that character after the file has been exported.

Note that as of Monarch V7 there is an option you can use to ensure that the End Of File character is not added. This option is found in Options|Export and Clipboard|Text Files|
and is called "Append DOS end-of-file character (x1A)"
