I cannot export from Monarch ver. 5.0 to anywhere other than my root C: directory. Return message is 'cannot find file [plus the file name that I am creating or updating]". I checked my options and changing export directory had no effect, same result. Any suggestions?

You did not mention your Operating system or the Format you are Exporting As...
For Win 2000NT, you must first make sure you have access to the directory, folder and file you are exporting to. A change in Network permissions, file permissions, or permissions on your own machine could block the export. Win 9598 users only need to check Network permissions.
Next....
If you are exporting a .dbf file. There have been some issues with the Microsoft.dbf exporter.
For some, changing the Export Format in MonarchOptionsFile and Directory....dbf Export Type to dBaseIII(Monarch V3)will fix the problem. This is an old Monarch DOS Exporter that is much more forgiving. However, you will not be able to Append data to a file using this format and the export file size is limited.
Installing the latest update for Jet4 SP6 also contains many Exporter fixes for .dbf as well as other file formats. This may cure the problem if the above does not.
Here is a link for the update:

Not related, but, I would also advise you to install the update for Monarch 5.02 from the Datawatch.com website:

I have Windows2000 SP3, so that's not an issue. I updated Monarch to version 6.01, and now can export to .mdb with no problem, but cannot export to any other file type anywhere other than the root directory (same drive on which the program is installed). Sort of half a loaf.

It turns out that I needed full rights to my "datawatch string" in the registry. Problem solved. smile.gif
